Tebow signs but not with Denver

Buy Jockey and praise God

Unsigned Denver Bronco’s quarterback Tim Tebow signed a deal to endorse Jockey underwear and apparel on Tuesday. The deal seems like a natural fit for a company and a quarterback who aren’t quite the best at what they do, but are full of potential.

No word yet if the underwear comes with scripture stitched into the lining.

Knowing Tebow’s cult-like status may dry up the market for product endorsements, others stars rushed to sign deals on Tuesday including: Lady Gaga and Derma Blend, Elton John and the new Island Splash Fragrance Douche from Summer’s Eve and Madonna will become the official spokesperson for adopting African babies.

Rumors have it that a competing underwear company will sign the rookie quarterback with the best ass in football: Colt McCoy.

Jock NFL Draft 2010: Picks 11-20

The SportsFags’ 2010 2nd Annual Jock NFL Draft: Picks 11-20

Ever since the conclusion of the college football season, NFL scouts and talent evaluators have been measuring, testing, poking, prodding and fingering — well ok maybe not fingering — draft eligible football players, for the purposes of evaluating their draft value and potential.

Over the same time period, I’ve been busy evaluating the same athletes, but using a slightly different scale.

While ESPN analysts like Mel Kiper and Todd McShay are developing their latest NFL Mock Drafts, I’ve been sifting through hundreds of photos and bios, with both hands ;) , to determine who belongs in the SportsFags’ 2010 Jock NFL Draft. Our jock draft board consists of the hottest 32 draft eligible players, not drafted based on position or team need but rather on who’s the hottest.

Enjoy picks 11-20:

Top Five Quarterbacks’ Potential Suitors

Colt McCoy was flawless at Pro Day.

Colt McCoy was flawless at Pro Day.

Three weeks from today, April 22, the NFL draft will, for the first time ever, enjoy Thursday night prime time coverage on ESPN. The experts are swooning over the depth of the defensive lineman crop in this year’s draft, but defensive lineman don’t get ratings. If the guys over at ESPN hope to complete against the networks’ prime time dramas, they will develop the quarterback storylines. The game of football revolves around the quarterback position, until you get that settled, you are just spinning your wheels.

The Top 5
The top five quarterbacks are in no particular order: Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford, Texas’ Colt McCoy, Florida’s Tim Tebow, Central Michigan’s Dan Lefevour and Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen, with only Clausen yet to complete a pro day.

Colt McCoy and the rest of his Longhorn buddies wrapped up Texas Pro Day on Wednesday. McCoy looked great (McCoy and Shipley Pro-Day photos), throwing in public for the first time since the shoulder injury he suffered in the BCS title game, he completed all 55 of his passes to Jordan Shipley and former Longhorn Quan Cosby. By the way, Shipley looked great in his undies as well.

Jimmy Clausen, recovering from foot surgery in January, will have his own Pro Day at Notre Dame on April 9. Tebow, Bradford and LeFevour have all completed their workouts for the NFL scouts.

Potential Suitors for the Top 5 Quarterbacks

  1. St. Louis Rams – With the overall #1 pick, the Rams can choose any of the four, but they are scheduling Bradford for a private workout just days before the draft. There’s no hiding the Rams intentions, but if they pass on Bradford and trade down, they could bank on picking up either McCoy or Clausen.
  2. Cleveland Browns – Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson are out, and Jake Delhomme is in. I gotta believe the Browns will walk away with one of the top five quarterbacks.
  3. Buffalo BillsTrent Edwards is hot, but not a star QB and his backup is Ryan Fitzpatrick.
  4. Oakland Raiders – If Al Davis can’t work out a trade for Eagles’ quarterback Donovan McNabb before the draft, the Raiders may go quarterback with the eighth pick.
  5. Washington Redskins – Does anyone really think Dan Snyder is sold on starter Jason Campbell? What to watch for: Who’s making the draft decisions now that Vinny Cerrato is out. Could Clausen possibly go as high as #4 or would the Redskins trade down and go after a more mobile quarterback like McCoy?
  6. Seattle Seahawks – New head coach Pete Carroll loves the college game and tutoring young quarterbacks, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they select one of the top five.
  7. New England, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Houston, Cincinnati, Green Bay, Dallas, San Diego – These teams have solid starters, lack quality depth and could spend a year or two developing a quarterback like Dan Lefevour or Tim Tebow.

McCoy’s Heisman Claim

Like it or not, when it comes to the Heisman trophy presentation lately there are two categories of winners, quarterbacks and non-quarterbacks. Unfortunately Heisman trophy voters have never voted in the true spirit of the award which is supposed to be rewarded annually to the most outstanding player in college football regardless of their position.

In reality the unspoken criteria goes a little something like this:

1. Must be a junior or senior
2. Must be an offensive skill position player
3. Must play in a BCS conference on a highly ranked team. True even before the advent of the current BCS system.
4. Must play in at least three nationally televised contests against other BCS opponents
5. Preferably, be a quarterback.

Tebow won the Heisman as a sophomore.

Tebow won the Heisman as a sophomore.

Of course there have been exceptions to these unspoken guidelines like when Charles Woodson of Michigan became the first ever true defensive player to win the award in 1997 and even he played some at wide receiver, Tim Tebow won as a sophomore in 2007 and both Ty Detmer and Andrew Ware won from non-BCS programs, BYU and Houston, in 1989 and ’90.

From 1973-’83 there was a run of 11 straight running backs but with 8 of the last 9 awards going to quarterbacks, the preferences of Heisman voters has clearly moved over to the signal callers.

Colt McCoy hot both on the field and off

Colt McCoy hot both on the field and off

So understanding how the award is ‘really’ determined I have no doubt that Colt McCoy has just wrapped up the 2009 Heisman trophy. Over the past month McCoy has been outstanding while leading the Longhorns to wins over Oklahoma State, Kansas and in-state rival texas A&M, all on national television.

Of the two candidates who meet the unspoken criteria listed above (Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow), McCoy is having a slightly better statistical season than Florida’s Tebow, and if it stays close the voters are more likely to reward McCoy his first trophy knowing Tebow won the award just two years ago.

McCoy’s Heisman Moment Against A&M
On the ground and through the air, McCoy accounted for 479 yards of total offense including a career-best 175 rushing yards and five touchdowns against Texas A&M. It was the third-highest individual total in school history, trailing only Vince Young’s 506 yards against Oklahoma State in 2005 and his own 483-yard performance against Central Florida earlier this year.

For the season he’s 310/432 (71.8%) for 3300 yards with 29 TDs and just 9 interceptions. With the Longhorns on the verge of playing for the national championship, McCoy is the best candidate left standing.

Like it or not, it’s Colt McCoy’s trophy this year.

McCoy and Shipley Take On Reesing

With a win Saturday against Kansas, or next Thursday against rival Texas A&M, Texas wraps up the Big 12 South title and will face the winner of this week’s Nebraska / Kansas State game in the Big 12 championship.

Kansas is in turmoil both on the field and off. The Jayhawks have lost five straight and only once this season have held an opponent to less than 30 points. Former players are speaking out against uncomfortably named head coach Mark Mangino’s (real close to mangina, like vagina) verbal abuse.

The Longhorns are on a roll and Colt McCoy has the next four games to make a statement for the Heisman Trophy. McCoy’s roommate and fellow hottie Jordan Shipley will return to kickoff duties this week following the suspension of D.J. Monroe. I expect Texas to roll and possibly cover as 28-point favorites.

It’s a night game which gives us gay sports fans a much better look at Colt McCoy’s ass through those Texas football pants. And while Colt’s bubble butt looks mighty meaty, don’t forget to get a look at Jordan Shipley’s muscular ass as well. I don’t know which one I prefer more?

Butt my favorite hottie in this game may just be Kansas quarterback Tood Reesing, seen here boozing it up Jay Cutler style.

Florida and Texas take care of business

Florida and Texas appear to be gathering momentum as they roll through the most difficult portions of their 2009 schedule. Led by Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy, much was expected of the offenses, however, the Longhorns and Gators are making some noise on the defensive side of the ball.

Tim Tebow surpassed Herschel Walker's SEC record for most rushing touchdowns

Tim Tebow surpassed Herschel Walker's SEC record for most rushing touchdowns

On Saturday the Gators held Georgia to less than 300 yards and forced four turnovers. The previous week, against Mississippi State, the Gators allowed only 237 yards and forced three more turnovers. In it’s last three games, Texas, has faced three potent offenses (Oklahoma, Missouri and Oklahoma State) and surrendered a total of 34 points.

With Alabama struggling offensively, the bye week could not have come at a better time for the Tide. However, Greg McElroy, isn’t Tebow or McCoy, and he doesn’t have the offensive weapons the Gators and Longhorns are able to deploy. With games remaining against LSU and at Auburn, I don’t expect Alabama to stay undefeated.

Iowa, TCU, Cincinnati and possibly a once-beaten LSU team could slip into the BCS title game under the right circumstances but most college football fans, without an allegiance to one of those teams, is looking forward to a match up of the Longhorns and Gators. I don’t think it’s an over stating things to say that, if it happens, Tebow versus McCoy will be this generation’s Magic Johnson versus Larry Bird. The two best teams led by college football’s two biggest stars.

Top 25 College Football Hottie Preview – #23 Colt McCoy’s Ass

He’s The Real McCoy alright. Not since the Marlboro Man has there been a better named Texan than Colt McCoy.

colt_mccoy6

An often-cited story relates to McCoy’s birth: his parents were from Texas but his father, Brad McCoy, was working just across the Texas border in Hobbs, New Mexico. Brad McCoy reportedly brought a shoe-box of Texas dirt to the hospital and slid it under the bed so that McCoy could be born “over Texas soil”. The story may or may not be true, as his father has chosen to “plead the fifth” when asked to confirm it.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Colt and Tim Tebow were fraternal twins separated at birth? OK, that seems ridiculous but consider how much these two have in common from their leadership abilities and football accomplishments to their faith in god. How does a Heisman trophy candidate manage school, football, faith and all of the volunteer activities at the same time? Obviously, he’s not doing what I did in college, drink, gamble on sports and pretend to like women.

colt_mccoy16McCoy spends three days a week reading to elementary school children and tutoring underprivileged children. And in 2006, Colt McCoy swam 300 yards across a lake to help save the life of a man who was having a seizure on a small dock across the lake. Do you think as a baby, was he put into a small spacecraft and sent to earth by his father Jor-El? Seriously, someone needs to see if he’s dating a girl named Lois and majoring in journalism at UT.

colt_mccoy4

With his resume of off the field activities it’s easy to overlook what he does on the field. Barring injury in 2009 he will battle Tebow and Bradford each week for Heisman Trophy consideration. The three way battle will continue in 2010 as we cover who’s going #1 in next years NFL draft.

He’s known for having the best arm in football, and I would add the finest ass in the NCAA. We’ve all seen QBs who look better shirtless but look at his ass in those Texas see through pants. Hook ‘em!

Just imagine his ‘longhorn’ roaming around free in there while he’s on the field. You can almost read the brand on his jock strap through those pants. And look at the junk in the pic below.

colt_mccoy9

I don’t know about you but I’m excited to watch McCoy battle for the Heisman and can’t remember a year when college football has had three leaders of such good character as McCoy, Bradford and Tebow.

And for all of you ass men, enjoy the season.
